Hi, welcome to my photography!

My story begins on the family sheep (until the mid-60's) and cattle property in south-east Queensland where I grew up. Some of my earliest and best loved memories came from here and it's where my love for the Australian bush started. The property was bought in 1927, and saw 4 generations of our family living there. It’s where I spent most of my life, often going bush by myself, exploring. After I finished high school, I went to college gaining an Applied Science degree and in the years following I also completed degrees in environmental management and teaching. It was during my working career that I was fortunate enough to travel quite a lot, meeting new people and seeing new places, all the time with my camera in hand.
Over the years I have been engaged for sport and product photography, weddings, portraits and commissions.  But my love for the countryside and places to see has eventually led me to concentrate on landscapes almost exclusively, photographing this amazing place we call Australia. I feel very privileged and blessed to be able to travel wherever and whenever I wish now. Landscapes are my escape. It's a place where I find peace and calm, solitude and inspiration, to escape from the busy-ness of life and think without distraction. It's the anticipation, the planning and the travel that draws me endlessly to find new places to explore, an endless pursuit to create a perfect image.
I started my photography venture with a Fujica ST801 a long time ago which I could never really get the hang of, followed by a Canon AE-1 Program, which I did get the hang of, and I have stayed with Canon ever since. As the Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS!) set in, I also added a Canon F1, A1 and T90 and a Mamyia C330 medium format - all film cameras. I switched to digital around 2008 and I now use digital exclusively.
I can be found most Saturday mornings at our local Esk Markets selling images from the local area as well as other places I have visited. Prints are available in a range of sizes, from cards to framed A2 panoramas. Not only do I take the photographs, but I also edit, print and matt them as well. And more recently, I have started framing my images, always with timber and non-reflective glass. Details are on the About Images page.
And finally, my underlying philosophy, not just for photography but for everyday life, is centred on our Lord Jesus Christ. It is my faith that guides and protects me through this life and gives me inspiration, courage and a peace in everything I do.
Thank you so much for dropping by, I hope you enjoy looking around my website.
